Hi everyone,
I’m new to the forum. My reason for joining is to discover as much information as possible about the Vickers family who descended from the steel & armaments industry. I have managed via the internet to make a dossier which has provided general information along with portraits of various members of the family. The portraits include a painting of Sholto & Angus Vickers as children (sons of Douglas Vickers) by John Singer Sargent. My Quest now, through various sources such as this one, is to discover a portrait of Sholto Vickers as an adult,or indeed any others available and where I may find them. There appears to be very little information surrounding this member of the family. He married & divorced a Russian Princess. They had a son who was brought up by Sholtos mother after Sholto sadly died in France in 1939 at the age of 37. If there is anyone willing to help with further information surrounding Sholto Vickers, or provide a means of discovering portraits or photographs, I would appreciate a reply on this forum or a private email if possible.

On reflection, I’m aware having studied the forum, excellent as it is,the actual family history section doesn’t appear to have many contributions. My thoughts now are to add to my original post and say I’d be happy if someone with knowledge on the subject could point me in the general direction of where I may find some answers to my quest in searching for images of Sholto Douglas Vickers as described. I have genuine reasons for my search and subsequent compilation of my dossier which has proven very helpful to those concerned.
