John Vickers of Doe Royd, Southey (not the steel dynasty!)

John Vickers, born at Doe Royd in 1814 and baptised at St Mary Ecclesfield, is my 2nd Great grandfather. He died at Doe Royd on 9 June 1888.

His father was John Vickers, who married Mary Cutler at Ecclesfield on 20 August 1806 (S&DFHS records!). Other than that I can find no concrete records for my 3rd GGF. A vague record of a John Vickers baptised at Ecclesfield 2 March 1787, parent Thomas Vickers, but there are a few other Vickers around at this time.

My grandfather, father and me lived in Birley Carr.
