“King Coal” The Fitzwilliams by Steve Silverstone

A look at the history of the influential, but troubled Fitzwilliam family. By a stroke of
luck on the siting of the family seat in South Yorkshire, the Fitzwilliams became one of the wealthiest
families in the country. (Location, location, location!) We shall learn how the family’s wealth was
accumulated along with its buildings and land.
Despite the trappings of wealth, the family appeared to be cursed, and suffered from hereditary
illnesses. Constant rumours of a family conspiracy rocked the very foundations of the family. We will also discover what caused the eventual demise of the estate.
