Born in Sheffield in 1946, I spent the first 30 years of my life living there until my husband's promotion took us to Cambridge. We have lived 10 miles north of the city for 50 years, yet I am still a Yorkshire lass at heart. I started researching my family history in 1987 after my parents - Sheffield born and bred - passed away.
