  Trying to decipher an entry in an 1830 parish burial record at St. James in Sheffield.
  
  In the field labeled “abode,” it appears to say “Port Makers, Sheffield.”
  
  I haven’t had any luck searching for this as a place in Sheffield. Can anyone help me figure out what this means?

  It is probably referring to Port Mahon
