  I’m writing a biography about a relative, Mary Allott nee Hopkinson, who started a personal recipe book in Sheffield 1860. (Facsimile of the book of receipts is published)
  
  I know Mary lived at New Road, Ecclesall with her husband Charles in 1856. Would this have been Ecclesall Road?

  In the 1861 census, there was a Mary Allott living at <span class=”Address-sc-c665813-9 jxYloT”>55, New Porter Street. This was close to Ecclesall Road. She was born in 1827 and married to Alfred Allott.
