Hi Mary, Sorry I cant help you with contacting any of the people you mention however it may be of interest to you that I am descended from George Wastnidge Gleadall born Sheffield 1806 (Died 1857) who married Elizabeth Osborne. His parents were Thomas Gleadall & Jane Wasnidge. The family have connections with both Sheffield and Birmingham. Regards Tricia

I hope you are successful in your quest & lovely to see you’ve had a reply. I’ve noticed this forum isn’t very active so I’m pleased you’ve had a ray of light shed on your search from theslam. I haven’t received any replies to my first post highlighting my search for more information about the renowned Vickers family (steel & armaments) although I’m living in hope 🙂
